Another first for Hickstead as online entries launched

 
 

Hickstead will be the first major show organiser in the UK able to accept online entries, starting with all classes at both the British Jumping Derby Meeting, which opens on June 25, and the Longines Royal International Horse Show on July 22-26.

The Food and Farming Fair: A Festival of Local Food and Downland Farming at the Weald & Downland Open Air Museum, Sunday 3 and Monday 4 May 2009

Come and enjoy the very best tastes of the south east this May Day Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday at the Weald & Downland Open Air Museum. England’s leading museum of historic buildings and traditional rural life, based in Singleton, near Chichester, West Sussex, will be hosting its ever-popular Food Fair in and among the historic buildings on its beautiful 50 acre downland site. The event will once again include a celebration of traditional downland farming, with a number of activities and demonstrations to interest all the family.

The giants of the horse world will demonstrate their skills and versatility alongside a host of other working animals at a magnificent gathering this summer. The Heavy Horse and Working Animals Show at the Weald & Downland Open Air Museum, Singleton, near Chichester, West Sussex, will be an unforgettable weekend of displays, demonstrations and parades guaranteed to delight visitors of all ages. The Museum has for many years staged its highly successful Heavy Horse Spectacular, one of the biggest shows of its kind in the south of England, and this year will build upon the event to include a number of fascinating displays showcasing a wide variety of animals in action.

Hickstead has frozen the price of all tickets for its two shows this year - the British Jumping Derby Meeting on June 25-28 and the Longines Royal International Horse Show on July 22-26.
