Launch of “Wild Flowers of the Kent Downs” short break
“Wild Flowers of the Kent Downs” in June 2009 has will centre on the wild flowers, and in particular the orchids, of the Kent Downs whose warm south-facing slopes are amongst the richest habitats in Britain. Kent Wildlife Trust will lead this short break which will involve visits to nature reserves such as Downe Bank, where Darwin developed his theories on the evolution of species by natural selection

Parham Point to Point runs left handed!
Things will seem a little different to horses, riders and spectators at this Saturday’s Parham Races: the course is now being run left-handed. The tents, paddock, bookies and trade stands will now be on the outside of the course adjoining the hill, which incidentally has been cleared of brambles etc to provide an excellent viewing point.

‘Open House’ On Mothering Sunday 22 March 2009
England’s leading museum of historic buildings will open its doors to visitors old and new at the start of the 2009 season with an ‘Open House’, on Mothering Sunday, 22 March. The Weald & Downland Open Air Museum at Singleton, near Chichester, will be welcoming all visitors with a special £2 entry rate, and will also continue its long tradition of presenting mothers and grandmothers with a complimentary bunch of daffodils on their special day.
